About Me

In the Beginning...

Even as a young child, I was always fascinated by technology. As I grew older, my fascination grew deeper, to the point of considering programming as a career. I've always had a second interest though: art. It wasn't until my senior year in high school that I realized I could actually utilize both technology and art in a career. After I graduated from high school I went to Tidewater Community College, where I studied graphic design for two years, with a focus on computer graphics and print media.

Why Web Development?

During my final term at TCC I took a class in web design. Immediately, I knew that it was going to be a perfect fit for me, so I decided to pursue web development as a career. I began school at ECPI in 2009, and since then my passion for the web has grown immensely. Even in the short time that I have been exposed to HTML and CSS, I have picked up quite a bit of knowledge on the subject, and I continue to learn more each day.

It's All About the Standards.

One of the most important things to me when writing code for the web, is to be in compliance with web standards. This means making sure each and every HTML file and CSS document I create validates through the W3C. It is my personal belief that everyone should have a choice in which web browser they use; I design my web sites to be cross-compatible in all browsers. I also believe in accessibility, and making sure that my web sites are available to everyone, even those with limited abilities.
